Missions + local outreach

At First B, we believe sharing our faith begins right here in Eugene and Springfield — with our families, neighbors, and friends — as we pray, care, share, and disciple in everyday life. We also partner with local ministries to serve and bless our community.

Our commitment extends around the world. We support 44 missionary families serving in 20 countries through church planting, Bible translation, leadership training, and evangelism. Through your faithful giving, First B helps provide resources for global outreach, humanitarian aid, and ministry development — from our neighborhoods to the nations.

Local Outreach

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”  Matthew 22:37-39

At First B, our mission is to Love God, and Love People.

Sharing our faith begins with our families, neighbors and friends in the local community and greater Eugene/Springfield area. We encourage everyone to pray, care, share, and disciple others right where you are — at home, school, work, in your neighborhood, and beyond. In addition to the many serving and sharing opportunities within First B, we partner with local ministry organizations as well.

Global missions

First B is committed to reaching the world for Christ! We currently support 44 missionary families who serve in 20 countries around the world. FBC missionaries share the Gospel through planting churches, personal ministry, Bible translation, missionary support, discipling leaders and believers, and training and equipping local believers to reach their own people’s group.

Your faithful and generous weekly giving will fund First B supported missionaries and other special missions projects.

First B provides materials and financial resources for global outreach opportunities, ministry development, special projects, and humanitarian aid through our missionary partnerships and agencies. Ongoing priorities include translating Scripture, planting churches, training and supporting pastors, printing and distributing Bibles, and evangelizing in closed-access countries.

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)

Child Evangelism Fellowship® is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living

Dove Medical

Dove Medical is a pregnancy diagnosis clinic in Eugene, Oregon. Dove provides free and confidential services for those experiencing unplanned pregnancy. They are passionate about helping women with unintended pregnancies.

Dove Medical has served over 43,000 clients in the past 36 years with free pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasound, decision coaching, prenatal education and referrals, maternity clothes, baby clothes, diapers, post-abortion peer support, and sexual risk avoidance education in the schools.

Eugene Mission

The Eugene Mission is not just a homeless shelter in the traditional sense. While they certainly provide their guests with food and shelter – and do so with an abundance of God’s love – the Eugene Mission’s ultimate goal is to provide holistic long-term solutions that lead to the long-term wellness of their guests.

The Mission first offers hope by providing a path off the streets through their short term Rescue Shelter. Once stabilized, the real work begins – the work of transitioning their guests permanently out of homelessness and back to a healthy community through the transformational programming of Life Change or the R³ Academy. There are always ongoing needs at the mission.

Every Child

Every Child Lane County helps mobilize the community to support children and families impacted by foster care. Every Child believes that everyone can bring something to the table to help, and wants to see children flourish.

Partnering with Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and community organizations, Every Child works to solve Oregon’s foster care crisis through marketing, education, one-on-one connections, and public and private initiatives. Every Child is always looking for new volunteers and foster families.

Hosea Youth

Hosea Youth Services mission is helping the at-risk and homeless youth of Lane County, ages 16-24, to build lives of hope and purpose.

At Hosea Youth Services (HYS), they strive to break the ugly cycle of trauma, despair, pain, addiction, and homelessness. The large majority of the young people they serve haven’t chosen this lifestyle; they were placed into it.

They overwhelmingly were born into family situations that were filled with abuse, abandonment, poverty, addictions, and trauma.

Once you learn their story, you understand why they are filling the holes in their hearts with drugs and sex, which ultimately leads to other significant issues. HYS serves as a safe haven for kids who need a helping hand.

Love for Lane County

Love for Lane County is committed to providing a holistic response to unmet needs through active faith. Their primary focus is to offer short-term practical, hands-on assistance for those who are in desperate need in our community and have nowhere else to turn. They provide “gap services” to meet the needs of our community, providing support that other agencies are unable to offer.

Youth for Christ

Lane County Youth For Christ seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of kids and families through holistic and relational outreach.

Each month, throughout our area, Lane County YFC engages with kids in schools, juvenile institutions, coffee shops, and local hangouts. Whether at the skatepark, the detention center, or coaching a teen parent through the struggles of parenting, Youth For Christ staff and volunteers show the love of Christ in practical ways.

YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.

Parent Life is a division of Youth for Christ, Lane County. They help expectant and parenting teens who are often juggling school, home life, relationships, and the stress of a new pregnancy or baby. It’s their passion to make them feel seen, heard, and valued. Their aim is to be a steady voice and presence in their lives, intentionally posturing ourselves as a supportive and empathetic mentor.

Parent Life seeks to connect with expectant and parenting teens and their children through intentional relationships with caring adults and community partnerships. Their focus is to empower teens to thrive in every aspect of life and to encourage them to further their education and move toward becoming life-long followers of Jesus Christ.
